Charmagne Lundberg, MS, LPC
About Charmagne Lundberg
I do not believe that we are meant to merely survive in life, but rather, THRIVE! However, things in life, from mere annoyances to severe traumas, can rob us of the joy, energy, hope, and love of life! My goal as a therapist is that through compassionate & active listening, guidance, education, support, and encouragement, you and I together can work through these issues that are holding you back, and set you on a new path of growth, hope, and healing.
My approach to therapy is eclectic, as I try to meet you where you are, and not have a "one-size-fits-all" approach. I am holistic in treatment, believing that our minds, souls, emotions, and bodies are all affected by our struggles and therefore, must also be a part of the healing process. And while I believe that some circumstances require the aid of psychotropic medications, at least for a time, I also tend to be more naturopathic. If there is an all-natural, non-medication option for treatment, we will start there. Studies have also shown that incorporating your religious/spiritual beliefs into treatment improves your chances of physical, mental, and emotional healing. Therefore, that is an option that we will discuss in your initial session.
I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy by the EMDR Institute and have hundreds of hours of training and experience. In addition, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focusing on thought-stopping, Cognitive Restructuring, and Behavior Modification, as well as using Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, Art Therapy, and Reality Therapy.
I am a graduate of Oakland University and Clarks Summit University with degrees in Criminal Justice, Psychology and Counseling; I have 8 years of experience specifically in psychotherapy and was an adoption caseworker (Domestic and International) for 5 years before that, and was the founder and director of a military support group for several years. I speak at various seminars, classes, and groups; am an adjunct professor at a local college; and volunteer at church and in my community, working with children, refugees, and humanitarian aid workers/missionaries all over the world.
