Shauna Gulliver, LMSW, CAADC Licensed Master Social Worker in Michigan
About Shauna Gulliver
Welcome, I am glad you are here! I’m Shauna, a licensed social worker with 12 years of clinical experience supporting individuals through life's challenges. I know how scary it can be to take this first step, and I want to commend you on doing so. No matter what you may be going through, you are the expert of your own life. It is my hope to provide an empathetic and respectful space where you can explore your emotions, gain clarity or insight, and develop tools that support your personal well-being. I believe that everyone has the potential to grow and heal. It is through this, that you will be able to understand yourself better, develop healthy coping strategies, and build a healthy support network.
As a therapist, my desire is to create a safe, warm, compassionate and collaborative environment. Through this collaboration we will work at your pace. I will use evidenced-based therapies that are tailored to your specific needs. I hope to provide a non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions, gain insight, and build the resilience necessary to navigate life’s challenges.
My therapeutic style uses a blend of approaches. These include Strength-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychodynamic Therapy, as well as utilization of skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), all depending on your specific individual needs and preferences. This personalized approach ensures that therapy aligns with your values, goals, and lifestyle.
I work with both individuals and couples. Besides being an LMSW (Licensed Master of Social Work) through the State of Michigan, I also hold an additional certification through the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I take special interest in helping those with trauma, anxiety, life transitions, emotional regulation, mindfulness, relationship or family dynamic issues and those that struggle with substance use. In our sessions, we will focus on creating a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust and mutual respect. You’ll have the opportunity to speak openly about your feelings, and we’ll work together to identify patterns and explore ways to break free from limiting beliefs or behaviors. Each session is designed to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes.
If this sounds like a good fit for you and your needs, please take some time to schedule an appointment. I look forward to walking through this journey of healing and self discover with you!
