About Sarah Westcot

We all need help sometimes. As a young child, I was often labeled a "helper". I knew as I grew older that I wanted to help others in some capacity. I am passionate about psychology and mental health, which led me to this profession. We do not get to choose the people who raise us, the environments we are born into, nor the trauma that we may face. We do get to choose a life that brings us joy, purpose, and fulfillment. Depression and anxiety join us on our journey at times, along with many other mental health struggles and addictions. You are not alone in your journey. Our trauma does not have to define us. I believe in working through any childhood or past trauma so that you can live in the present, rather than feeling stagnant and held hostage by your mental health. I believe in identifying the long-abused unhealthy ways of coping and helping you to learn new and healthy ways to deal with heavy and uncomfortable emotions. I believe in tackling communication and social skills to help you better navigate interpersonal relationships. You are worthy, you may just not fully realize or believe it yet.

I take a comprehensive and holistic approach to therapy. I believe in meeting my clients where they are at, and being a support, advocate, and provider of coping tools that will help them thrive. I believe in empowering my clients to be the best version of themselves because they deserve it. I believe in helping children and adolescents navigate their emotions, feelings, and experiences. If you find yourself later in your journey, whether it be early, mid, or late adulthood, needing help, I am here to assist you too. It is okay to not be okay. It is okay to ask for help when you need it. My genuine hope is that you feel safe and comfortable each session and leave feeling able to take on the next day. You are deserving of a purposeful, fulfilled, and joyful life. Your child is deserving of a purposeful, fulfilled, and joyful life. It starts now, and I am grateful you have found your way here. Welcome, and thank you for allowing me the opportunity to help you.
