Last month, Great Lakes Psychology Group brought together its corporate team members at our headquarters in Troy, Michigan for an inspiring day of connection and collaboration. The week represented our commitment to fostering meaningful relationships within our team while strengthening our mission to support both therapists and clients to help them thrive.
A day of learning and growth
The week-long event featured a lineup of presentations delivered by our own team members, showcasing the wealth of knowledge and skills within our organization. These sessions were thoughtfully designed with a clear focus: enhancing our ability to support both our therapists who are in our network and the clients they serve.
Examples of sessions included:
- Empowering Team Members: In this session, we explored the four pillars of exceptional customer service: empathy, clarity, consistency, and follow-through. We emphasized how the first call or email can shape a client’s entire therapeutic experience. Through real-life example scenarios, we practiced validating emotions, offering solution-focused responses, and documenting interactions clearly.
- Feedback That Fuels Growth: This session focused on the power of both giving and receiving feedback. We discussed why timely, clear communication matters and how feedback should be seen as a conversation that promotes growth. By embracing both constructive input and positive recognition, we’re building a culture of continuous learning and support.
- HIPAA in Action: During this session, we reviewed the essentials of HIPAA and what qualifies as Protected Health Information (PHI). We walked through examples to better understand how to handle sensitive information securely. We emphasized the importance of secure systems, vigilance, and proactive reporting. This session highlighted how safeguarding privacy strengthens trust of both our clients and our network of therapists.
