Last week, Great Lakes Psychology Group hosted its first annual Talks & Tidings, an in-person gathering that brought together our corporate team for a week of connection, reflection, and shared learning. Held in December, the event created intentional space for team members to foster real connections and have meaningful conversations.
Talks & Tidings reflects our ongoing commitment to building a strong internal culture, one that supports our network of therapists and their patients.
A week centered on who we are
The theme of this year’s Talks and Tidings was “Who We Are.” Throughout the week, our corporate team explored company identity, brand voice, and the values that guide our work. These conversations allowed us to align more deeply around how we show up for each other, for therapists in our network, and for individuals seeking mental health care.
Learning sessions were led by internal team members and focused on strengthening both knowledge and consistency across the organization. Topics included:
- Our core values
- How we serve and support therapists
- HIPAA training
- Customer communication standards and delivering clear, compassionate support
Each session reinforced the importance of professionalism and empathy in every interaction.

Championing meaningful connections
While learning was a key component of the week, Talks & Tidings was also about connecting with one another. The in-person format allowed for conversations, collaboration across departments, and relationship-building.
The week also included fun traditions, such as our annual corporate holiday party, creating moments of joy and celebration alongside professional development. These shared experiences helped strengthen team bonds and reminded us that connection is at the heart of everything we do.

Looking ahead
Talks & Tidings reinforces our dedication to intentional growth, strong team culture, and shared purpose. The insights learned and connections made throughout the week will continue to shape how we communicate, collaborate, and support our community in the year ahead.
