About Nikki Gilbertson
Dr. Gilbertson earned her doctorate of Clinical Psychology from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. She completed her residency training with the Chicago Area Christian Training Consortium. She has previous experience working with all age ranges with varying mental health needs and concerns, including men, women, adolescents, children, and their families. She is passionate about working with women in various stages of life, conquering the unique challenges that face women today whether that be in their career focus, family concerns, and the delicate balance between the two. As a career mother of 3 young children, she appreciates this dynamic situation. Her clinical specialties include the full range of anxiety and depressive disorders, eating disorders, grief and loss issues, PTSD/CPTSD and healing from the trauma of child abuse or domestic violence, adjustment issues, phase of life issues, and more. Dr. Gilbertson has unique training and a specific interest in acknowledging one’s spiritual beliefs in the context of their lives and specifically in the midst of their pain. She is comfortable addressing concerns related to one’s spiritual development, issues related to faith and spiritual development, and using one’s spiritual and religious beliefs as a source of comfort and strength. She uses empirically validated treatment approaches with clinical creativity to tailor interventions to engage individuals in a meaningful way. Her desire is to work with individuals to identify specific goals for treatment; empowering people though psychoeducation and support, and to implement effective interventions which will empower individuals to reach their full potential. Dr. Gilbertson conducts psychological evaluations for the purposes of diagnosing ADHD as well as conducting psychological evaluations for candidates of Bariatric Surgery. In her spare time Dr. Gilbertson loves to garden, raise her backyard flock of chickens, fly fish, take her children camping, hike, and explore nature with her family.
