About Adrian Emerick

Thank you for choosing me as your clinical counselor. In this role, I am responsible for the clinical therapy you receive as you work through stressful events in your life. My purpose in presenting this disclosure statement to you is to acquaint you with some of my goals for therapy, to provide you with an overview of the therapy process, and to outline some of the conditions under which we both must operate.

My therapy draws from person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, narrative, and existential theoretical models, infant mental health model, trauma focused cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, concepts of social justice, juvenile justice, empowerment, and equal access to all societal members. As your clinical therapist, I will encourage you to consider your thoughts, your behaviors, and your feelings as you are present in clinical sessions and interact with your others outside of clinical therapy sessions. My clinical therapy sessions encompass the roles of teacher, consultant, and advisor to assist you with your own development and progression through stressful situations. The clinical therapy you will be offered will be developmentally appropriate for you so that it matches your awareness, readiness, and your therapeutic capabilities. The clinical therapy you receive will include discussions about your personal goals for yourself, be consistent with how you conceptualize stressful situations and work toward a common goal of your choice. You will be challenged and supported throughout treatment. You will be treated with respect.
